I am new to all this blogging but after researching tips on beginning photography- I see a blog is a great way to start. I don't know why but I couldn't type on my mobile so I am going to continue now.
I started out by taking a 35mm into to photography course at my community college last year. While i loved doing it, I understand that there is no big future in 35mm anymore. I decided last month that i was going to try to pursue photography instead of English lit. I have fun doing it, I love looking at my photographs, and while i know that it will defiantly take some time to get into i dropped my lit classes and started looking for a digital camera. The day i dropped the lit classes i felt free. i spent about 6 hours researching how to be a photographer. I looked at cameras and kept looking. i knew i would find a good one if i waited at a good price. after looking for almost 2 weeks I finally got a digital camera last month so that I can start to go somewhere. I called friends to ask advice about which path i should follow and they were all supportive that i should do what i enjoy. I only know one person that is a photographer and i had text her and called her hoping that she would let me ask her some questions and maybe even apprentice with her. she never replied. i guess asking for help was out the question from her.
This is what i bought. Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens.
I played with settings but didn't really have any subjects to shoot beside my dog and it's hard to get her to stay in one place while i change the settings and find which ones work well. I read some of the manual and learned new things, like i had to format the SD card to the camera. oops. Of course doing that erased all the pictures i had taken like the manual said it would but i didn't have anything special on there.
So this is my start. I would love feed back from people on how to get out there and any great tips they may have.
Thanks for reading
